Pastor Moser, Jr. and his wife Edith began the Challenge Press with their own funds. Mrs. Moser, a Certified Medical Assistant, donated her entire salary to Challenge Press in order to buy equipment and supplies for the printing of books. Later, the Challenge Press was donated to the Central Baptist Church to be operated by the church as a mission project. Over 118 books were printed in five languages, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Japanese.
In 1961 Pastor Moser, Jr. began The Baptist Challenge, which became the largest magazine among independent Baptists with a circulation of over 7,000 each month. It was discontinued in print form but remained online in August of 2001. Many of the back issues are available at The Baptist Challenge web site. The paper has been a blessing and encouragement to many through the years.
