WHAT WE BELIEVE

Bible
We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired Word of God.

God the Father
We believe God the Father is creator (with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) of all things, is all-powerful, all present and all knowing. He is without beginning or end, is perfectly holy, is great in grace and mercy, loves man supremely and eternally saves all who come to Him in faith.

Jesus Christ
We believe God the Son, Jesus Christ, was with the Father from the beginning and is equal with God. He willingly humbled Himself to be born of a virgin (God in the flesh), and was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit. He was totally sinless in His life and ever obedient to the Father. He made a vicarious atonement for our sins in dying on Calvary, was buried and arose victorious over sin and the grave. He ascended into Heaven and is seated on the right hand of the Throne of God and is making intercession for the saved. He has promised to return for His people and we believe His return could occur at any time.

Holy Spirit
We believe God the Holy Spirit is co-equal with both the Father and the Son. He was sent by the Son as another Comforter and He is in the world to reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment to come. He regenerates all who put their faith in Christ as Saviour. He indwells believers, guides and teaches them in the truth of the Word of God and empowers them to live for Christ.

Man
We believe that man was created by God and in the image of God. But man, by an act of willful disobedience, plunged himself and the whole human race into sin. Man is totally depraved and dead in trespasses and sin. He is a sinner both by nature and choice and must have a spiritual birth in order to be saved. If a man dies without being saved (being spiritually born again), he is eternally separated from God and tormented forever in the lake of fire.

Devil
We believe in a personal devil that was created perfect by God and remained so until iniquity was found in him. Pride caused him to rebel against God and he was cast out of Heaven. He now rules as prince of the power of the air and over the kingdoms of this world. He was instrumental in the fall of man and today presents himself as an angel of light. He goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He hates Christ and does all, in his power, to oppose the work of the Lord. God has already judged him and he ultimately will be confined to hell for eternity.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is in Jesus Christ alone. It is offered freely to all and is obtainable by repenting of one’s sin and receiving Christ as Saviour by faith. Salvation is solely by God’s grace and is not merited by works. It results in God’s forgiveness of all our sins and is made possible by Christ’s blood willingly shed on the cross for us. Salvation imparts eternal life and one can never be lost again.

Heaven and Hell
We believe heaven and hell are literal places prepared by God. All men will reside in one of the two for all eternity. Heaven is the abode created by Christ for His bride where all the saved will abide with God. Those that have rejected Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the lake of fire with the devil, antichrist, and false prophet eternally separated from God.

Church
We believe the institution of the church, was started personally by the Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry. The church that Christ formed was both local and visible. We reject the concept of a universal, invisible church and believe it weakens the authority of local churches and is unscriptural. The church is to be made up of born-again believers who have been scripturally baptized and who are organized to carry out the work of the Lord. The church is the pillar and ground of the truth.

Missions
We believe that the command to give the gospel to the world is clear and unmistakable and that this commission was given to the church. We believe that missionaries are to be called by God, commissioned by the local church as led by the Holy Spirit, sent by the local church into the regions beyond to preach the gospel and to be supported financially by Bible believing local churches.
