Wisdom for Good Words

February 8, 2024

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. Proverbs 15:2

Communication is part of life, a large part. So it’s important to speak the correct words at the right time. How might this be accomplished? Only by wisdom from God.

Wisdom is the correct use of knowledge, and with God’s wisdom you can express yourself in a good way. Your words will be a blessing to others.

Comfort – with your words you can encourage the discouraged and distressed.

Counsel – your words can direct people to God.

Chastisement – your words can rebuke in love, if that is required.

A wise person will have control over their tongue, enabling them to share knowledge with others.

There is also a warning given concerning the foolish, those who speak without God’s wisdom. Their words will flow, sometimes endlessly, and be spoken without discretion or consideration of others. The fool’s conversation is littered with corruption and is often offensive.

Why is this the case? Because a foolish person seeks attention and self-glorification. They will speak whether someone is listening or not.

If you seek after God and His wisdom, your words will be a blessing instead of a burden.
